AAEE NSW Environmental Educator of the Year Awards

The NSW Environmental Educator of the Year Awards recognises individuals in NSW who show outstanding abilities to raise the level of environment awareness in the community and who provide leadership, innovation and inspiration to others thus contributing to quality environmental education.

How to Nominate for the Awards

Award nominations open in July each year and close in September. Currently there are three categories of Award, of which one is chosen to receive the Overall Environmental Educator of the Year Award.

  • Community Educator Award

Award History

The award originated through AEE NSW, with the first award winner in 1981, no other than Allen Strom. The last award under the AEE NSW banner was presented in 1999. From 2000 the award was managed by the NSW regional Environmental Education group running the conference for that year and was awarded in 2000/01, 2002 and 2004. From 2006 the Award has been managed by the current AAEE NSW Executive Committee.
