Education Officer – Tours Coordination - Sydney Water

Manage Key Stakeholder Relationships.

To effectively develop and promote education and community tours and other field based programs run by Sydney Water, a coordinator with excellent people skills and project management skills is required.  Experience working in an educational setting and an understanding of stakeholders from the education industry is essential.

In this full time term role you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting tours and programs for the Water Recycling Education Centre. You will be a team player working in collaboration with officers implementing tours and programs at the centre.

Your excellent interpersonal and project management skills will allow you to manage stakeholders and service providers.  This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with schools and other education providers and promoting the Centre and its tours and education programs.  Stakeholders to this position will come from different industry backgrounds including government, education, schools, community, business, or environmental industry.

This position is a term role commencing by negotiation immediately or at the beginning of the New Year.  It will be based in Sydney Water’s head office in Parramatta but will involve regular weekly travel to the education centre at St Marys.

This term role will conclude June 2012 with a possible extension of a further 6 months.

Education Officer – Schools - Sydney Water

To develop programs that engage students and develop teachers’ knowledge and skills in water education, an innovative and creative teacher or environmental education specialist is required.

This is a full time term role commencing as soon as possible or by negotiation and concluding October 2012.  Based in Sydney Water’s head office in Parramatta, this position will require strong knowledge of school systems in NSW.  Stakeholders include government schools, independent schools, catholic schools, TAFEs, universities and private education providers.

Creativity and innovation is central to this position.  The successful applicant will research and develop programs in line with Sydney Water’s educational strategy and the demands and needs of teachers and education providers in the industry. 

You will be a self starter with knowledge of the Australian National Curriculum and an ability to manage education programs from concept to implementation.  Education programs for Sydney Water can hold scope over primary, secondary and higher education.

Applicants must have a strong background in environmental education, or school based education.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to develop, deliver and evaluate education programs and resources with a focus on professional development of teachers.

You will work across multiple projects at any time, requiring strong time management skills, project management skills and communication skills.
