Take Me Outside NSW launched in June and in just two months we’ve had a great response from the NSW community with over 20 projects registered from Sydney and around the state in Mid and North Coasts, Tenterfield, Hunter Region, and the South Coast!
Registered projects include:
- six schools planting to increase biodiversity in their native gardens or bushland within their school grounds.
- six schools creating vegetable and flower gardens to increase biodiversity at their school and create habitat for pollinators.
- one school weeding bushland at their school to improve biodiversity
- one school setting up a composting system.
Outside of school grounds, projects include family bushland excursions, a migratory bird project, and litter clean up and an outdoor playgroup. A great diversity of projects so far!
We’ve also received a number of pledges from organisations offering to support Take Me Outside NSW projects including Campbelltown City Council, Woollahra Municipal Council, Dubbo Regional Council through Wellington Caves Complex, Environmental Education Centers (Royal National Parks and Rumbalara), WaterUps From Down Under, Upper Hunter Landcare, Reverse Garbage, an Alternative Life Learning Centre and more. Thank you to all those organisations who have pledged their support, and we’re looking forward to many more joining us!
