On Thur 20 Feb, 14 fantastic environmental educators from Wagga gathered at ErinEarth and had an inaugural meeting of the Riverina Environmental Educators Network. Educators came from community, early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary settings. The group found out what was on offer from environmental education centres in the local Wagga area and shared ideas about what they would like to incorporate into their teaching this year.
We would love more teachers to become involved and share stories of their successes and seek suggestions for challenges they may face.
Our next meeting will occur in Term 2 at the Riverina Environmental Education Centre on Thur 14 May at 3:45pm. Here we hope to have a guest speaker to tell us about the principles of nature play and how it can be incorporated into schools.
