Sustainable Schools NSW is a curriculum-focused resource hub for environmental education in New South Wales.
Part of the national Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI), Sustainable Schools NSW aims to connect school-based environmental educators with relevant resources, interactive lessons and a like-minded community to help spread the important message of sustainability to future generations
First developed in 2002, Sustainable Schools NSW helps schools take a whole school approach to sustainability, implement their School Environmental Management Plan, network with their local community and nurture a generation of environmental leaders. Following 15 years of management by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), Sustainable Schools is now being managed by the Australian Association for Environmental Education NSW Chapter (AAEE NSW).
AAEE NSW is passionate about the Sustainable Schools NSW Program. Helping schools take action for their local environment is important to us. We want to help build stronger connections between schools and their community, including through our Make the Change project, and keep building the Program to be as relevant and useful as possible.
Thousands of schools and teachers throughout the state are members of the growing Sustainable Schools NSW network. Join today!
